Why is it that French lovers seem to have all the answers, whilst the rest of us only questions? Could it be that French is the true language of love?

You won’t find this movie interesting while you read the title. I know the title won’t give it any justice. But, certainly for me, you got to watch this one. This movie gave us many perpectives on love while (at least tried to) being funny. They said “French Film” is actually a comedy, but i don’t see myself laughing for it. It’s a story about a couple that are having a pretty bad relationship. The boy, named Jed (Hugh Bonneville), is a journalist. He’s English and her Girlfriend is French.

One day he propose to his long-term girlfriend, Cheryl (Victoria Hamilton), but she won’t accept him. So both of them going to a couple counseling while trying to find the truth about their feelings. Jed is also preparing to do an interview with a french film-maker called Thierry Grimandi (which are played by former footballer Eric Cantona). He seems like an expert in a thing called LOVE because he got many theories on it. Jed thinks that his views on love is kind of ridiculous and irrelevant to the real couples out there.

One day Jed and Cheryl started to regularly hanging out with Jed’s bestfriend, Marcus (Douglas Henshall), and his girlfriend, Sophie (Anne-Marie Duff, James McAvoy’s wife) while they seems to have better relationship than Jed and Cheryl. Marcus meets a girl which he really loved from his old times, Kate, and forgets Sophie after he’s close to her again. Things got complicated from there until the interview with Thierry Grimandi settle it all.
